Off the main roads are the best ways to find fallow grounds. So we found in Istria a beautiful orchid meadow on a clay pigeon shooting range. Obviously, there is enough mowing throughout the year to benefit the occurrence of the „Pink butterfly orchid / Anacamptis papilionacea“. The shallow light of the setting sun was perfect for this picture.

Abseits der Hauptstraßen sind die besten Wege um wenig genutzte Flächen zu finden. So fanden wir auf Istrien eine herrliche Orchideenwiese auf einem Tontauben-Schießplatz. Offensichtlich wird dort übers Jahr gerade genug gemäht um das Vorkommen des „Schmetterlings-Knabenkrauts / Anacamptis papilionacea“ zu fördern. Das flache Licht der untergehenden Sonne war bestens für dieses Bild.
