Boggy Bloom

Menyanthes trifoliata is a marsh plant and the single species in the genus Menyanthes. It has a horizontal rhizome and alternate trifoliate leaves rooting in marsh ground and also expanding into shallow water. Because of its bitterness and contents it is used as a medical plant since a long time. It is rather hard to photograph because it’s not so easy to come close in most cases.
