2023Burning Bush
Burning bush is one of the names of Dictamnus albus, a herbaceous, flowering plant, which grows in warm open woodland habitats in eastern Austria. Its distribution area ranges from Southern Europe to Asia and Africa. The name comes from the fact, that the volatile oils inside the plant can catch fire in hot weather, which leads to the suggestion that the plant was involved in the story of the burning bush in the Bible. But I cannot confirm the ignition by myself, because I have never watched it. The flower has a lemon-like smell, but nevertheless some kind of toxic nature.
