The nights are cold up north in Central Alaska during September. I wanted to make a picture of Mt. McKinley, reflected on a small pond, in the first light. To get the reflection without reed in the foreground I took off my shoes and stepped into the freezing cold water. After 15 minutes in the water my feet were almost frozen and I wanted to leave the location. In that moment I saw this Dragonfly in the wonderful morning light, of course I had to stay in the water! 🙂
