Ghosts of the desert

The Arabian Oryx was once almost completely gone from the wild. Reintroduction programs in the deserts of Oman, Saudi Arabia and Jordania saved this species from extinction. In Oman, the recent exploitation of oil and gas once more brings an insecure future for them. Fog – only occuring a few days a year – is the basis of the Oryx‘ existence in the bone dry deserts of central Oman.
