Among birders „Lifer“ is the name for a species you have spotted or documented for the first time in your life. Being in Spain two times before for photography, I didn’t have luck with this iconic bird. The Spanish imperial eagle (Aquila adalberti) is classified by the IUCN as „vulnerable“ , but since 1960 to 1970 when it was close to extinction, the population has slowly increased up to 500 individuals at the present time. It caused some faster heartbeats, when this beautiful adult female came into my direction.
