The rugged mountains and painted hills in Bad Lands National Park in SD are not so famous, but definitely worth a visit. In this park you will probably witness sunrises and rugged landscapes that you might consider yourself being a character in J.R Tolkien´s „Lord of the rings“. Even a rattlesnake encounter is at high chances. Especially when the sun settles in the west, the snakes will come out enjoying the heat of the paved roads in the park. So watch out not to overrun one of the „poor little wretches“.
