I’m constantly drawn to abstract shapes and textures in nature. Sometimes their details and colors rival paintings by masters. These shots might look simple but there are many rules to consider almost like in a wide shot. On top of that they can be technically tricky. I shot a similar shot in the year before I took this one. Although I stopped down to a small aperture, the distance from the corners to the lens still was too long resulting in unsharp corners. One more lesson learned which I carry with me all the time now.
