Tiny and humble

A classic view but still one of my favorite landscape vistas in Austria during one of the best conditions I experienced there so far. Actually I was out looking for orchids in late afternoon light about ten kilometers away from Lake Almsee and intended to return home in the evening but finally I found myself shooting the milkyway all night long until sunrise. It was one hell of a night with perfect conditions and probably one of the most exciting milkyway displays I witnessed so far. I squeezed out my EOS 5DII at ISO 12.800 for this image. A single exposure and the entire illumination comes from natural starlight.
