Twin birth in apes is an extremely rare event. Hardly anyone has seen baby twins in orangutans and until 2017 it has not been recorded scientifically. The more of an honour it was for me finding this wild orangutan mother with twins in the jungle of Borneo in 2019. I could observe the small family for some hours in a fruiting tree and finally they moved on and passed by in very close distance.
